Dear Member,
The Committee hope that you have all enjoyed your Christmas and send best wishes for the New Year.
Subscriptions are now due but the good news is that there will be no increase for 2010. For those of you who are unable to download information from the website, there will again be an extra charge of £1.00 if you would like newsletters sent by post. The cost of sending schedules in the post will remain at £2.00. Adverts will be posted in the Livestock Column of the County Press when newsletters and schedules are available to download. If you would like everything e-mailed to you please fill in your e-mail address on the enclosed Agenda (there is no charge for this!). Subscriptions can be sent to me by post or paid at the AGM. In either case it would be appreciated if you could please complete the slip at the bottom of the enclosed Agenda.
I expect you have all heard by now that, very sadly, our President, Ken Gill, passed away in October. He was a great ambassador in the horse and pony world over many years, well respected for his knowledge and dedication and will be sadly missed.
Past Events
The Autumn Show went well although the entries were a little disappointing. However, the Dressage entries were encouraging with a number of non-members taking part.
The Long Distance Ride from Jubilee Car Park had been well supported but the Spider Ride to Brading Down was a wash-out with heavy rain and gales (not the best place to be in these conditions). However, 2 very brave riders did turn up.
The trip to Olympia was again a very enjoyable day but the journey home was not so good. It was the day when heavy snow fell in the Basingstoke area and it took 8 hours to get from London to Portsmouth. It was touch and go whether we spent the night on the M3 but eventually we managed to catch the 1am ferry.
AGM
This will be held on Friday 29th January at Wootton Bridge Community Centre and the Agenda is enclosed. We are again providing the fish and chip/sausage and chip supper to include a sweet. If you would like to order this please complete the slip at the bottom of the Agenda and return to me by Monday 25th January with the correct money. Cups will again only be presented to the winners and not given to anyone else to take on their behalf. Stuart Pearce, Keith Whitehurst and Veronica Bingham are due to retire from the Committee but will be standing for re-election. Debbie and Lawrence Flux have decided to stand down and we would like to thank both of them for all the work they have put in over a number of years. They have very kindly offered to help whenever they can. There will, therefore, be a couple of vacancies on the Committee and if any of you would like to put your name forward please complete the slip on the Agenda and let me have it by Monday 25th January.

That’s all the news for now. We look forward to seeing you at the AGM when we hope that you will come along to collect your rosettes or just enjoy a social evening and supper.
