Dear Member,

The Committee hope that you have all enjoyed your Christmas and send best wishes for the New Year.

Subscriptions are now due but the bad news is that we have felt it necessary to make a small increase this year. This is only minimal and, as there has been no increase for many years now, I am sure you will consider this reasonable. However, the good news is that there will be no increase in entry fees for the shows. A charge of £2.00 will be made if you would like newsletters and schedules sent by post. If you fill in your e-mail address on the enclosed subscription renewal form everything can be sent to you electronically. Subscriptions can be sent to me by post or paid at the AGM. In either case it would be appreciated if you could please use the slip at the bottom of the enclosed Agenda.

I expect that most of you have heard by now the very sad news that June Burgess passed away on 1st November. She was a founder member of the Society and a past Chairman and her experience and knowledge will be greatly missed. Most of you will remember her for all the lovely photographs she took at shows.

Past Events
The Autumn Show had been well supported and there were reasonable entries in most classes. The judges had both enjoyed their day despite heavy rain at times. Vectis Equestrian very kindly allowed our members to take part in their Competitive Ride from Godshill on 2nd September, which enabled them to gain points towards the trophy. Although there were some spaces for the Dressage Rally at Little Fairlee Farm, this had been enjoyed by all those who took part. The venue had been excellent and we hope to be able to use it for future events.

AGM
This will be held on Friday 3rd February at Wootton Bridge Community Centre and the Agenda is enclosed. There will again be no supper but we will be providing tea, coffee and biscuits. Cups will again only be presented to the winners and not given to anyone else to take on their behalf. Chris Hiller, Tina Murrant and Amy Garside are due to retire from the Committee but will all be standing for re-election. We are still looking for new, possibly younger, members to join our team and if any of you would like to put your name forward please complete the slip on the Agenda and let me have it by Monday 30th January. Don’t worry if you are unable to find a proposer and seconder, we can arrange this for you.

That's all the news for now. We look forward to seeing you at the AGM when we hope that you will come along to collect your rosettes or just enjoy a social evening.
